I’ve tried a few mobile apps for this on my phone but none were super reliable for big articles.
I have a setup where I copy article text into Notion and use its AI summary feature. Works pretty well for work stuff.
Anyone tried GPT-based tools for summaries? They seem smart but a bit pricey for regular use.
Free tools are great but usually have limits like max chars per summary. Paid plans often worth it if you do this a lot.
If anyone’s interested in a free option, try SMMRY.com. It’s old-school but works decently for short stuff.
I've been using TLDR This lately. It’s straightforward and pretty accurate for news articles.
Sometimes AI summaries can be too generic tho. I prefer ones that highlight quotes or stats specifically.
Has anyone tried combining summarizers with voice assistants? Like reading summaries aloud while multitasking?
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that do article summaries. They keep a good updated list.
Does anyone know if these tools support multiple languages? I read stuff in Spanish sometimes and would like a summary in English.
Sometimes I just highlight parts I want summarized and feed that to the AI instead of the whole article. Works better for me.
I use the Summarize feature built into some browsers now, like Chrome extensions. Super easy to use without opening new apps.
I think the best approach is using AI summaries as a first glance, then dig deeper as needed. Saves time but stays accurate.
I found that most AI summarizers work best for factual articles. Opinion or creative stuff still needs a human touch imo.
Be careful with privacy when using these tools, especially if articles have sensitive info. Some apps store your data.
I like when tools offer bullet point summaries rather than paragraphs, makes it quicker to scan.
I started using a tool called SummarizeBot and it’s been pretty solid for quick reads. Not perfect, but saves me loads of time on research.
