I read somewhere that the different versions have different training data cutoffs which affects how updated their knowledge is.
I’ve tried all the main versions and honestly just stick with the latest. They fix bugs and add cool stuff. Plus, newer models seem to understand context waaaay better.
In the end, I think the ‘best’ version depends on your own use case and budget honestly.
Honestly, just depends what you want chatGPT to do. For coding help, the newer versions are way better for me.
For anyone interested, the difference in latency is pretty noticeable between older and newer versions.
Anyone else feel like GPT-3.5 was kinda underrated? It’s still super capable and less resource heavy.
I've seen people mention using ChatGPT plugins with newer versions. Does that make them better?
Sometimes the newer versions get too fancy and give answers that are too complicated lol.
Honestly, it depends a lot on what you want to use it for. The newer versions generally have more features and better understanding, but sometimes older versions feel quicker for simple stuff.
I wonder if anyone's tried mixing versions for different tasks? Like 3.5 for small talk and 4 for work stuff.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you wanna see what's hot in AI these days.
Sometimes the simplest version works better for quick and simple stuff without overthinking.
I’m new to ChatGPT and just started with the latest version. It’s a bit overwhelming but pretty impressive!
If you want my 2 cents, GPT-4 is pretty much the gold standard now for anything serious or professional.
