Does the model actually ‘read’ stuff, or is it more like numbers and math behind the scenes?

One time I tried asking it about something super niche and it gave a decent answer! That amazed me since it’s not connected to the internet in real-time.

It’s kinda scary how accurate it can be, but also how it can confidently tell stuff that's wrong. Like, it’s not really "knowing" anything, just very advanced pattern matching.
