Pair programming online is way easier now than it used to be, love these tools making remote work smoother.
GitLive is pretty cool if your team uses Git heavily. Shows who's working on what in real time.
Anyone know if GitHub Codespaces has live collaboration yet? Heard it's coming soon.
Microsoft's Live Share is solid but sometimes connection drops make it annoying during important sessions.
Not a fan of browser-based IDEs for collaboration, feels laggy and limited compared to desktop apps.
I've tried using Teletype for Atom but the editor is a bit old-school now and lacks features compared to VS Code extensions.
Sometimes latency kills the experience though, depends heavily on internet connection.
I like that some tools also track who wrote what in real-time, helps with code reviews later.
CodeSandbox's live collaboration is great for frontend stuff. Not sure how it handles backend projects tho.
I've been using Visual Studio Live Share and it's pretty awesome for pairing! Super smooth and easy to use.
Realtime collaboration tools have saved us so many meetings, just jump in the editor and fix stuff live.
Slack integrations with GitHub and other tools help keep everyone updated in real-time without switching apps too much.
For open source projects, tools like Gitpod make it easy to spin up a collaborative dev environment fast.
Honestly, Google Docs style live editing for code would be perfect but I haven't seen any tool nail that yet.
JetBrains Space has been a game changer for my team. Combines chat, issue tracking, and coding all in one place with live editing.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you wanna find the freshest options out there.
Would love a tool that integrates video chat and live code editing seamlessly though. Any ideas?
We use Slack + VS Code Live Share combo and it’s been pretty effective for our small team.
I'd recommend checking out Live Share if you're already on Visual Studio, it's a no brainer.
For those on Mac, CodeTogether works well with IntelliJ and VS Code, worth a look!
Our team uses CodeTogether and it works well for multi-language projects.
I recently started using Replit for collaborative coding and it's pretty neat for quick prototyping in teams.
