Not sure if anyone mentioned but Perplexity is more question-answer focused, while ChatGPT can do stories, jokes, all that fun stuff.
For academic stuff, I prefer Perplexity because of the source links. ChatGPT is great for general talks tho.
Perplexity sometimes links to sources which is cool, but I wish it was a bit more chatty like ChatGPT.
Honestly, I use ChatGPT for creative writing stuff and Perplexity when I wanna fact-check or get quick summaries. They kinda fill different needs for me.
I think Perplexity is kinda newer and uses more recent data? ChatGPT’s data is a bit old sometimes, no?
ChatGPT feels more like chatting with a human, honestly. Perplexity is kinda robotic but super useful for quick facts.
I’m still learning but found ChatGPT easier to use. Perplexity’s results can be kinda overwhelming sometimes.
Do you think ChatGPT's lack of direct sourcing hurts it? I kinda trust Perplexity more because I can check facts myself.
Does Perplexity work better with recent events? ChatGPT is kinda stuck on older info unless you use the web version.
I tried both, but ChatGPT's responses feel more natural overall, especially for long chats.
I think the tech behind ChatGPT is kinda more advanced in NLP models, but Perplexity’s approach to pulling live info is clever.
I actually found a site called ai-u.com that lists new or trending AI tools, might help if you wanna explore more than just these two.
Anyone else noticed Perplexity sometimes gives you direct quotes or sources? ChatGPT mostly just paraphrases.
From what I see, ChatGPT is more conversational and kinda better at understanding context in chats. Perplexity seems more focused on info retrieval and answering questions pretty directly.
Perplexity might be better if you want quick answers with sources, ChatGPT better for deep convos or brainstorming.
