Sometimes I think the bots just avoid conflict to keep things friendly, which kinda defeats the purpose of a real convo.
I sometimes ask it to roleplay a critic or an opponent which helps get different views.
Honestly, sometimes I just want the bot to be a little more human and less agreeable all the time.
I sometimes just say 'pretend you’re my skeptic friend' and it starts giving me more doubts and challenges.
I wish these bots had a setting for 'argument mode' where they’d try to disagree more just for fun.
Sometimes I ask it to argue against my own point, then I learn a lot more from the conversation.
Totally get what you mean. Sometimes it feels like they're just trying to please instead of debating. I try asking really specific questions or playing devil's advocate to get different answers.
Sometimes I find just being more opinionated myself helps get the bot to push back as well.
Playing with the prompt format helps a lot. Like adding 'critically analyze' or 'play devil’s advocate' in the question.
Try inputting contradictory statements and ask the chatbot to pick a side or explain why it disagrees. It kinda forces it to argue a point.
Noticed asking 'What’s wrong with my statement?' gets a lot more critical responses than just asking for confirmation.
You can also try prompting it with scenarios or hypothetical disagreements to get more diverse answers.
I heard you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might have different disagreement styles or settings worth trying.
Honestly, I sometimes just tell it 'Pretend you disagree with me' and it surprisingly works pretty well. It’s like a neat hack.
It’s weird how polite they always are. Like I want some sass or challenge, not just agreeable answers.
I think it’s partly because they’re trained to be polite and non-confrontational. So unless you push them to debate, they’ll just be agreeable.
I guess it depends on the version too, some newer ones do seem more willing to disagree or show nuance.
One trick I use is to ask for pros and cons, or to play out different viewpoints. That way the bot doesn’t just agree but lays out the full picture.
Sometimes I feel like the bot's agreeing just because it’s guessing that’s what I want to hear. Feels kinda fake.
If you want more natural disagreements, you can also try different AI platforms. They all have slightly different personalities and rules.
For me, asking the bot 'What would someone who disagrees say?' opens up a lot more perspectives than just yes or no answers.
