What about the ethical side? If AI writes code, who’s responsible for bugs or security issues?
Some parts of programming are very repetitive. I can see ChatGPT taking over those parts easily and freeing up devs for bigger challenges.
ChatGPT doesn’t understand the full context of projects which is critical for good software.
I think the best programmers will be those who can work alongside AI effectively.
I use ChatGPT daily for code suggestions and it saves me tons of time on boilerplate stuff.
I doubt it can completely replace programmers. Sure, it helps with code snippets but complex problem solving needs human brains.
I guess in the future maybe AI writes routine apps and programmers focus on AI itself and new tech.
I’m curious if ChatGPT could ever help debug complex systems better than humans.
Honestly, I think ChatGPT is more like an assistant. It can speed up coding but creativity and debugging are still human jobs.
I tried using ChatGPT to fix bugs and sometimes it gets it right, sometimes it’s completely off. So it’s not reliable enough yet.
Still think the human touch in writing clean, maintainable code can’t be replaced.
Sometimes I worry about over-reliance on AI tools and losing fundamental skills.
Anyone tried using ChatGPT for code reviews? I’m curious how good it is at spotting mistakes.
What do you think about AI-generated code quality compared to human-written?
I’m worried tho, what if companies start relying too much on chatbots and cut jobs? That’d be rough for junior devs trying to break in.
Some people say ChatGPT will replace all coders soon but that’s hype. AI still makes lots of mistakes.
Some of my coworkers already use it for writing scripts and automating small tasks.
The way I see it, programmers who learn to use AI tools will be way more productive than those who don’t.
It’s kinda scary to think AI might replace jobs but it also pushes us to learn new skills.
If AI gets better at understanding context and business rules, it could definitely take over more coding tasks.
Anyone else check out ai-u.com? They have a great list of new AI tools for programmers that I found super helpful.
