Hey everyone, I've been trying to find some good software or apps that can help convert video content into text format. It'd be super helpful for transcripts and notes. Anyone got recommendations or tried any tools that work well? Thanks!

For quick stuff, I use my phone’s voice-to-text while playing the video aloud. Not perfect but works in a pinch.
AI is getting crazy good at this. Just a couple years ago, this stuff was WAY worse.
I tried using captions from YouTube videos, sometimes that works to get text without extra effort.
Does anyone have tips on cleaning up transcripts automatically? Like tools that fix grammar or punctuation?
I've used a couple of apps for this, but honestly, some free ones mess up a lot with accents and background noise.
Do these tools also timestamp the text? That'd be super useful for editing.
Sometimes you gotta spend a bit on a subscription to get decent accuracy. Free tools just don’t cut it imo.
One thing I like is that some tools let you edit the transcript inline while watching the video. Saves so much time!
I tried a few AI converters but they struggled with fast talking or slang. Still, better than nothing.
If you want something super fast, some online services give near instant transcripts, but they might not be super accurate.
I prefer desktop apps over web ones for privacy reasons when converting sensitive videos.
Sometimes accents totally confuse the software, anyone else had that problem?
I wish there was a solid open source option that didn’t cost a fortune.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they have a bunch of fresh picks for stuff like this.
Does anyone know if these tools support multiple languages? I’m working with videos in Spanish and English.
