Is it true that deleting chat history also removes data used for improving the AI? Wondering if I should keep some history saved for that.

Is there any way to recover deleted chats after clearing history?

Also make sure you log out on shared devices after clearing history, just to be safe.

Would help if there was a keyboard shortcut like ctrl+shift+delete for chat history lol.

I just hit 'Clear Conversations' on the sidebar, and it wipes everything. Pretty straightforward if you ask me.

I use the mobile app mostly and clearing history there is the same as desktop, just go to settings.

I think it’s important to clear history regularly, especially if you share your computer with others.

Oh yeah, this has been bugging me too. I found that you can just go to your settings and there’s an option to clear all conversations which works pretty well.

Is clearing chat history different if you use ChatGPT through third-party apps?

The clearing process is pretty quick, no delays or anything, which is nice.

I sometimes forget to clear the history and then feel kinda uneasy about my chats being stored. Wish there was an easier way to auto-delete old chats.

I accidentally cleared an important convo once, wish there was a confirmation prompt.

If you want extra privacy, clear browser cache and cookies too after deleting chat history.
