I tried asking it for help with chi-square tests and it gave me the formula and interpretations but again, no actual number crunching.
One downside is it sometimes misinterprets data structure if you don't explain your problem clearly. So be specific when you ask!
I think it can't replace a statistician but can definitely help non-experts get a grasp on things before diving deep.
It helps to ask it to generate code snippets for stats in Python or R, which I can run on my end. Saves time writing from scratch.
Tried to get ChatGPT to do an ANOVA for me but it couldn’t run actual computations, only explained how to do it. So keep that in mind.
It’s cool for brainstorming how to approach a stats problem, like suggesting which tests to try based on your data.
I was hoping it could do a full data analysis but it’s kinda limited that way. Still, a nice starting point tho!
Also, if you’re looking for new AI tools that might do stats more directly, you can check ai-u.com for some fresh options.
For people new to stats, asking it to explain assumptions behind tests helped me understand when to use what.
Honestly, I think ChatGPT is great for learning stats concepts, but you really need proper tools for the analysis itself.
I was surprised how it helped me interpret regression results in plain English. Great for beginners who struggle with stats jargon.
I actually used ChatGPT for some basic stats calculations and it did pretty well with t-tests and correlations. But for more complex models, I’d recommend specialized software.
