Hey folks, I've been looking into different ways to tell if stuff online was made by ai or a real person. It can be kinda tricky sometimes, so I thought I'd start a chat here and see what tools or tricks you all use to detect ai content. Anyone got some good tips or favorite tools?

I guess the key is combining automated checks with human judgment. Can't rely on either alone honestly.
I've seen some tools that analyze sentence structure and syntax to guess AI content, seems pretty clever to me.
I've tried a couple of detection tools and honestly, none are perfect but some catch the obvious stuff pretty well. It helps to cross-check multiple sources too.
I find that some AI content detection tools rely too much on certain keywords or repetition, which is kinda simplistic. More advanced AI can bypass that easily now.
Are there any open source tools for this? I wanna try building a little script to flag AI-generated stuff in my own projects.
Does anyone know if these detection tools also work with AI-generated images or just text?
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools. They update their list often and it's helped me find better detectors than the usual ones.
One thing I wonder about is if these detectors can handle different languages or just english mostly?
Sometimes just reading the text out loud helps me notice if it's a bit too robotic or unnatural, especially for longer content.
A lot of the stuff I've seen flagged as AI content actually turned out to be legit when I dug deeper. So these tools should always be used as a guide, not the final say.
