Hey everyone, I've been messing around with some AI stuff to bring old black and white pics to life with color. Some tools work better than others tho. Anyone got favs or tips on how to get the best results without it looking fake? Would love to hear what y'all use!

Does the AI colorize based purely on what it 'thinks' or does it use historical color data from the time when the photo was taken?
Is there a way to batch colorize a lot of black and white pics at once?
I've seen people mention GANs for colorization, do you need tech skills to use that or are there user-friendly apps based on that tech?
I found that sometimes the AI adds weird colors to metallic objects like cars or jewelry, anyone else see that?
Some AI tools also add color to old movies frame by frame now, that's insane progress! Anyone tried it?
I wonder if these tools can handle photos with faces in shadows, or does the AI just guess wildly?
I wish there was a way to pick the exact colors you want because sometimes the AI guesses wrong and all the grass ends up purple or something. Manual override would be a lifesaver.
Do colorized photos by AI hold up when printed or do they look weird compared to digital viewing?
Does anyone know if these AI tools work well on really old photos, like from the early 1900s with lots of scratches and damage?
I tried to colorize a black and white pic of my grandparents and it actually gave them clothes colors I remember from old stories. That was kinda magical tbh.
Lately I've been using an app that uses AI to color old b&w pics and it really amazes me how accurate it gets hair and eye colors sometimes. Still, it ain't perfect but it's pretty close!
Some of these AI tools are free online but have watermarks, anyone know good ones without that?
I’m worried about privacy when uploading old family pics to these online tools. Anyone knows if they keep your photos or how safe it is?
I've tried a couple of those AI colorizers and honestly, some of them make the pics look kinda weird. The colors feel off sometimes, like skin tones or backgrounds are just strange. Anyone else notice that?
AI colorizing is cool but I still prefer manual colorizing by artists for that authentic vintage vibe.
