Hey folks! I've been messing around with different tools to see how well they can spot AI-generated text. Thought it could be cool to chat about which ones actually do a good job and which ones kinda miss the mark. Anyone else tried some of these out? Would love to hear your thoughts and fave picks!

Are there any free tools that actually work? Most I tried either limit usage or aren’t very accurate.
I hope someday these tools can also detect deepfake videos as well as AI writing. That’d be next level.
Does anyone mix AI writing with their own words and then check it? Wonder if that tricks the tools.
I prefer tools that don’t require uploading my text to the cloud for privacy reasons.
Anyone know if these checkers keep improving as new AI models come out? Or do they lag behind?
What’s your fave feature in these checking tools? For me it’s the detailed reports showing which parts look AI.
I feel like the more people use AI these days, the less useful these checkers become, no?
I found a tool that kinda works for me but it still flagged my writing as AI sometimes even tho it’s all mine! Kinda frustrating.
I tried one tool that gave a percentage score of how likely text was AI. Pretty neat but kinda vague sometimes.
There’s this site called ai-u.com that keeps getting me updated on the latest AI writing checkers. Might help someone looking for new stuff.
Some checkers focus more on plagiarism than on spotting AI specifically. Not sure if that’s helpful for everyone.
It’s weird how some AI content feels creative but still gets flagged by these checkers.
I’m worried about privacy when using these tools. Anyone knows if they save your text or use it elsewhere?
Can these tools work in languages other than English?
Honestly, sometimes I just read the text and can tell if it feels too robotic or generic rather than relying on tools.
Honestly, some of these checker tools are hit or miss. I've tried a couple and some barely catch anything unless it's super obvious.
I’d love a tool that not only detects AI but also suggests how to make the text sound more human.
I wish there was a browser plugin that checks AI writing instantly as you type.
I guess no tool can be perfect cause AI keeps evolving fast. Best bet is to use these checkers as just one part of your review process.
I’m curious if anyone’s tried these tools for academic writing? Wondering how reliable they are there.
Does anyone know if these tools slow down as the text gets longer?
Sometimes I think these tools just check for common phrases AI uses, so mixing up style might fool them.
Sometimes I feel like these tools scare people off using AI at all. We gotta find a balance.
