Hey everyone! I've been drowning in photo duplicates and gotta find a good way to clear them out without spending hours. Anybody found some handy tools that just do the job and save us the headache? Would love some recommendations or tips!

Also, some tools let you set rules like keep newest or highest resolution which is super handy.
I started using a cloud photo service that automatically removes duplicates for me, saves so much hassle.
I’m lazy so I just use apps that automatically delete duplicates without asking, not for everyone tho!
One thing I noticed: make sure the tool doesn’t remove photos based on just file name, always check previews!
I had a bad experience with a duplicate remover that deleted some pics I wanted to keep. So frustrating!
I use this one tool that scans super fast and lets you review duplicates before deleting. Saved me tons of space.
I wish there was a universal standard for photo metadata to help duplicate detection.
Worth mentioning some tools also find blurry or low-quality duplicates so you can clean those out too.
Just so you know, some photo gallery apps already have built-in duplicate cleaning features nowadays.
Just a heads up, be careful with free tools. Some might delete stuff incorrectly if you’re not paying attention.
Does anyone know if these duplicate removers work well on videos too?
Sometimes I just manually go through and delete but yeah, that’s only if you don’t have thousands of pics lol.
I tried a few apps but honestly some just slow down my computer way too much. Anyone knows something lightweight?
I use a Mac so I found some native apps that do a decent job without extra installs.
Anyone tried using command line tools for this? Heard it can be faster but kinda technical.
Free tools are ok but paid versions usually have way better scanning and more options.
Make sure the software you pick can actually detect similar photos and not just exact copies, that’s usually what I look for.
Honestly I think AI is the future of this problem, it’s way smarter at spotting stuff we’d miss.
I found a few apps that use AI to identify duplicates even if they’re slightly different sizes or edited versions, really cool!
