ChatGPT is good at generating descriptive text and NPC personalities, but I find it can't fully grasp the rules or make tactical combat decisions like a human DM.
I've used ChatGPT to DM a one-shot adventure, and it did surprisingly well at creating scenarios and NPC dialogues. However, it struggled with tracking complex character stats and managing long-term story arcs.
I tried running an entire campaign with ChatGPT as the DM, but it quickly became repetitive and sometimes inconsistent with the story. I think it still needs improvements to manage complex narratives.
Has anyone integrated ChatGPT with tools like Roll20 or FoundryVTT to automate some DM tasks? That might enhance its capabilities.
