ChatGPT itself doesn't directly read files like PDFs or Word docs. You usually have to copy the text into the chat for it to analyze. However, some apps integrate GPT models with tools that extract text from documents automatically.
I've tried uploading a PDF into some AI platforms that use GPT, and they extract the text behind the scenes. So while ChatGPT itself doesn’t process files, the integrated service can handle documents seamlessly.
If the document is an image or scanned PDF, you'd need OCR (Optical Character Recognition) first to convert it into text. Then ChatGPT can help you with understanding or summarizing the content.
