I guess if someone is worried about getting caught using AI on MCQs, they should just study. AI detection isn’t really solid in this area yet.
I tried using ChatGPT for some MCQs and it does well, but sometimes picks answers that seem right but are kinda off. That could be a giveaway if someone is paying attention.
Honestly, I don’t think Canvas can directly tell if you’re using ChatGPT for MCQs. But teachers might notice if your answers are too perfect or match textbook wording suspiciously.
Sometimes it feels like focusing on AI detection for MCQs is a bit over the top. MCQs are usually pretty straightforward anyway.
Honestly, best way is probably teachers designing questions that AI can’t easily guess, like applying concepts instead of pure recall.
From what I’ve seen, most AI detection is focused on essays, not multiple choice. The latter is just too straightforward to flag AI specifically.
Does anyone know if Canvas integrates with any AI detection plugins that could scan MCQ answers for AI? I’m curious because my school uses Canvas but I haven’t heard of this feature.
There’s this subreddit where people talk about AI and test cheating, some say you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that help spotting AI usage. Might be worth a look.
I think spotting AI use on multiple choice is kinda pointless unless the AI picks wrong answers on purpose. ChatGPT usually picks the right one if it knows the topic.
If Canvas ever adds AI detection for MCQs, I wonder how they’d make it work without false positives. AI is pretty good at mimicking human answers here.
I wonder if Canvas tracks IP addresses or device fingerprints to catch students switching between AI tools and the platform during exams.
I've heard Canvas has some plagiarism tools but not sure if they can detect AI-generated answers on multiple choice. It's probably easier to catch essay stuff than MCQs.
