ChatGPT does not remember previous conversations once the session ends. Each new chat session is stateless, so it doesn't retain any memory of past interactions unless the conversation is ongoing.
There are some ways to simulate memory by providing past conversation context within the input, but that has to be done manually or by the app you're using.
OpenAI is working on features that might allow for longer term memory or persistent conversation history, but as of now, ChatGPT can't remember across sessions.
So basically, if I want ChatGPT to remember something important, I have to remind it every time or keep the context in the same chat session?
