Are there any official statements from OpenAI about how long temporary chat data is stored?

From what I understand, OpenAI does retain chat data to improve their models but they have strict privacy policies in place. Temporary chats during a session might be stored briefly but not permanently saved unless the user opts-in or saves them.

OpenAI updated their policy recently to give users control over their data. You can delete your chat history manually in the interface if you want to be sure.

I’m fairly certain that conversations are not saved permanently by default. The chats might be temporarily cached during the session to allow for continuity, but once you close the session, the data isn't accessible from your side unless you save it yourself.
