Remember that even if the company is trustworthy, any breach or hack could expose chat data, so be careful with what you share.
If privacy is a huge concern, you might wanna check alternatives that promise stronger confidentiality or run local AI models.
Does using ChatGPT through third-party apps affect privacy compared to the official site?
I heard some companies use ChatGPT internally but have special setups that don’t send data back to OpenAI servers, maybe something to look into if privacy matters.
I’m new here, does the mobile app have the same privacy rules as the web version?
It feels weird to think a bot remembers anything you say, but I guess the data is anonymized and aggregated mostly.
Does anyone know if the data used to train ChatGPT is linked to user accounts or totally anonymous?
Sometimes I wish there was a simple toggle to just 'not save any chat data' for ultimate privacy.
Thanks everyone for the insights! Definitely gonna be more careful with what info I share now.
There are some browser extensions that claim to encrypt your chats with ChatGPT, but not sure how legit they are.
I saw someone mention on another site that you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might be more private. Worth a look!
What about kids using ChatGPT? Should parents be worried about their privacy?
I use ChatGPT a lot for work stuff, but I always double-check there’s no confidential client info in my queries.
I’m also curious if ChatGPT conversations are encrypted during transit?
I wonder how GDPR applies to ChatGPT data usage for European users.
I think OpenAI has privacy policies, but you gotta read them carefully. They say they might keep data for research and improvement.
From what I gather, the chats aren’t end-to-end encrypted, so in theory they could be accessed. So don’t trust it with sensitive data.
I’ve read that OpenAI deletes data of users who opt out of data collection, pretty cool feature if you ask me.
I tried reading the privacy policy but it’s kinda dense and confusing, anyone got a simple summary?
Just a heads up, some people reported that even with chat history off, data might still be collected but not used for training.
Honestly, I always assume anything online isn't 100% private. But from what I read, ChatGPT doesn't store personal chat history permanently. Still, better not share super sensitive stuff.
I feel like the best way to stay safe is just don’t share anything you wouldn’t say in a public chat room.
Are there any official statements about how long the data is kept after each chat?
It’s also interesting how ChatGPT doesn’t have a memory by default, so each session is kinda separate. That helps with privacy a bit.
