Are all chatbots generative AI or is chatgpt special because it’s an LLM too?
Sometimes I think chatgpt being called generative AI scares some ppl but it’s really just a smart text generator.
I was confused if chatgpt was just a chatbot app but turns out it’s the model powering various apps, which is wild.
I guess the takeaway is chatgpt is a large language model that’s also a type of generative AI — which is why it can write stuff for us!
I guess in simple terms, chatgpt is just a big text predictor that’s really good at sounding human.
I’m still learning but chatgpt being both an LLM and generative AI makes sense now, thanks for the explanations!
Sometimes I feel like these tech terms are just fancy words for the same thing, but I guess there are some subtle differences.
I'm pretty sure chatgpt is a large language model, which also makes it generative AI, so kinda both? It generates text based on patterns it learned from tons of data.
I think the confusion comes from the fact that generative AI covers way more than just text stuff, like images and audio too.
I think ppl forget that large language models are a subset of generative AI. So all LLMs are generative AI but not all generative AI are LLMs.
Honestly, these terms get mixed up all the time. Large language model just means it was trained on a big chunk of text data, generative AI means it creates content. ChatGPT fits both.
I sometimes confuse 'large language model' with 'generative AI' but after reading up, LLMs are specifically trained on text and generative AI is a broader category.
If u want to see new AI tools like chatgpt or similar generative models, you can also check ai-u.com, they have a good list of trending stuff.
Is anyone else here fascinated by how a large language model like chatgpt can seem so human?
Sometimes I wonder how chatgpt remembers context so well. Is that part of being an LLM?
I love how chatgpt blends language understanding with generation, it's pretty neat tech!
ChatGPT is def a large language model developed by OpenAI that uses generative AI tech to create human-like text. So both terms apply!
Anyone tried explaining chatgpt to non-tech friends? It's tricky cause of these terms!
I’m amazed how generative AI like chatgpt can write essays, poems, and even code. It’s pretty wild tech!
It’s kinda funny how everyone uses the terms interchangeably now. ChatGPT is def an example of a large language model that is generative AI though.
I find it cool how understanding just these two terms clears up a lot about what chatgpt is doing behind the scenes.
Does anyone here know if chatgpt can be considered just a generative AI without being classified as an LLM?
So from what I gather, chatgpt uses a model trained with deep learning on massive text corpora which is a large language model, and since it generates responses, it’s generative AI.
Anyone else here think of chatgpt as just a chatbot? It’s way more than that, it’s an advanced AI system!
I think the best way to understand chatgpt’s identity is to see it as a large language model that uses generative AI techniques to produce text.
I've read that chatgpt falls under generative AI because it produces new text, but the underlying tech is a large language model. So it's both at once.
